Krates Return to Katana
Originally introduced during the pre-deposit campaign, Krates now return as part of Katana Quests. Earn XP by completing Quests, redeem it for Krates, and open each one to reveal what's inside. Every Krate contains a reward, there are no empty Krates. Instead of waiting until month end, you can now turn your Quest XP into rewards along the way.
How Krates Work
A Krate is earned by redeeming XP earned through Katana Quests and contains a randomly selected reward.
Participate in Quests to earn XP, then redeem 350,000 XP for one Krate.
Krates are released in limited monthly batches. For August, 10,000 Krates are available across all participants. Once the month's batch is fully redeemed, XP redemption pauses until the next batch is released at the start of the following month. Any XP you are still holding is entered into the monthly draw as usual.
XP is earned by participating in Katana Quests. It cannot be purchased, transferred, sold, or redeemed for cash.
What Is Inside
Every Krate contains one or more rewards from the current reward pool. Rewards currently include avKAT and XP.

Reward pools are set each epoch and displayed in the app before you open. If the pool changes in a future epoch, Krates you have already earned continue to use the reward pool and published odds that were displayed when you earned them.
Redeem Your XP or Hold It
XP now has two uses.
Hold it until month end and every XP becomes one entry into the monthly Quests prize draw. Or redeem it for a Krate to receive an immediate reward, plus additional XP inside many Krates.
Either way, XP balances reset at the end of each month once the draw closes. XP does not carry into the next month, so any XP you have not redeemed is automatically entered into the monthly draw before your balance is reset.
Build entries for a larger monthly draw, or convert your XP into rewards along the way. The choice is yours. Because each month's Krate supply is limited, redeeming earlier in the month gives you more certainty that a Krate is still available.
Opening and Claiming
The original Krate reveal animation returns. Open your Krate whenever you want. There is no separate claim step. Your reward is credited the moment the Krate opens, and every opening is recorded in your Krate history.

How Rewards Are Determined
Rewards are determined using a verifiably random off-chain process with internal audit logging. Every Krate uses the same reward pool and published odds for the current epoch, regardless of how it was earned.
